Nizio Takes the Championship

British GT3 – Round 5 By Dave Plummer

Winner – Daniele Vidimari (KJ Corse) 35 Laps 50:44.930

Fastest Lap – Daniele Vidimari (KJ Corse) 1:23.171

Pole Position – Daniele Vidimari (KJ Corse) 1:22.056

Well it would have been an all to familiar site to be looking at Michal Nizio standing on the winners podium. Taking yet another win, but with Nizio having already secured enough points to win the Championship, decided to challenge himslef by adding 100kg of ballast for the race.

But Brands was dominated by Nizio’s closest rival Daniele Vidimari doing the treble by securing the win,fastest lap and pole position.  Finishing a full 23 seconds in front of 2nd place Jorge Paniagua (Realdesign) and 3rd place Allie Ferrie (Idos Motorsport).

Brands Hatch was a really tough race, with our highest amount retirements with 11 DNF’s out of 26 with 5 due to suspension. Rafael Carballedo (Team Redline) was our highest climber making up an impressive 13 places finishing P13.

The Driver’s Championship was won by Michal Nizio (Rapid Racing) with Daniele Vidimari in 2nd and Adam Karkuszewski in 3rd. In the Team Championship Michal also won, with KJ Corse and Team Rookie Monster in P2 and P3 respectively. Thank you to all the drivers that took part in the series. We now have 2 new series for you to take part in, WSS Europe and WSS Asia. We look forward to seeing you on the track.
