Drivers Briefing – V8 World Supercars – Rd2 – Adelaide

Welcome to the V8 World Supercars series – Round 2

The Adelaide Street Circuit (also known as the Adelaide Parklands Circuit) is a temporary street circuit in the East Parklands adjacent to the Adelaide central business district in South Australia, Australia. It is made up of public roads and an old horse racing track.

The long “Grand Prix” version of the track hosted eleven Formula One Australian Grand Prix events from 1985 to 1995, as well as an American Le Mans Series endurance race on New Year’s Eve in 2000 Since 1999, a shortened version of the circuit has held the Adelaide 500 touring car race. This is the layout we will use.

Points to Note for drivers

There will be no formation lap due to high tyre degradation for these cars. Therefore be careful in your early laps on cold tyres.

Starting procedure

On green light, start off the grid with your pit lane speed limiter ON. As much as possible cars should leave the grid in order and move to single file. You race starts as you exit Turn 3, (red line on map) where you can turn off the speed limiter. Note the run to Turn 4 is short and a heavy braking zone, so be careful!

Other notes

Due to concerns about blue flags in Race 1, make sure you are familiar with our flag rules.

Round 2 starts at 9:00am UTC on Saturday 27 April 2019.
