Barcelona…Watkins Glen…Nurgburgring…Suzuka…Road America…Bathurst…
Just words and names to some…
But to Motorsport fans these names cause shivers down the spine…perhaps a slightly faster heartbeat…and memories of some of the greatest and most thrilling racing ever. These places are our Cathedrals. These cars are our drugs. These moments are what bind us together again and again…
World Sim Sports and NRT Game Servers are proud to present the GT3 World Championship!
We are thrilled with the response to our initial British GT3 series and we want more. We want bigger and better! We want not one, but two series to run concurrently in multiple time zones pitting the greatest sim racing drivers in the greatest cars on the greatest tracks we could find.
The two series will each run over six events and take in some of the best track mods we could think of for GT3 racing. Some of the tracks the two series will share, and some are specially included to give each championship a distinctive flavour.
Each event will feature a 15-minute qualifying session followed by a 50 minute race. However, fuel will be at 50% so these will be championships built on strategy and controlled driving aggression.
The European series will start Qualifying sessions at 8pm UTC and will visit the following tracks;
11 Jan – Barcelona
18 Jan – Paul Ricard
25 Jan – Watkins Glen
1 Feb – Zandvoort
8 Feb – Road America
15 Feb – Nurburgring
The Asia Series will start Qualifying sessions at 10am UTC and will visit the following tracks;
12 Jan – Sepang
19 Jan – Bahrain
26 Jan – Watkins Glen
1 Feb – Suzuka
9 Feb – Road America
15 Feb – Korea
BUT WE DIDN’T STOP THERE!
You know what else is really great about GT3 cars? Endurance events. We will run a combined endurance for drivers in both series at the legendary Bathurst circuit. This event will be double points for each championship but will also field entries from teams wishing to run the event independent of the other championships.
The combined Euro/Asia Bathurst 4 hour Endurance event will start at 8pm UTC
22 Feb – 4hrs Bathurst
But what would be the point of having two champions when the Highlander films taught us all that there can only be one?
The final race for both series will be an invitation-only International Race of Champions. This will be held at Sebring and pit the top 10 drivers from each championship in a no holds barred battle to establish the ultimate GT3 driver.
